Pool game

rathi ji
Hi all ,
I want to make a pool game ( some balls on the table & we have to put them in hole by stick ) in JAVA .
I have no experience of game programming in JAVA .
could you please mail me your valuable suggestion .
I want to start it from basic .
what are the readings I should follow .
thanks in advance .

My advice is to not start with something so complicated as a Pool game. Me and a friend of mine are wanting to create a pretty complex game, however, we realize that we aren't at the level we need to be at to do so, so we are doing a couple of Proof Of Concepts. One of them being a tic tac toe game.

If you start off with a complicated project, such as pool, you are doomed to failure, IMO, if you don't have any game programming experience at all. You will just get frustrated by not being able to make any progress and that is always a bad thing.

Start with something small that you can actually complete in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe something like Tic Tac Toe.

What Greg says is right. I've started reading too many game programming books only to never get anywhere.
The reason: they all throw you into the deep without going into the concepts, thus completely loosing the reader (unless that reader already understands the technology which in the case of tutorials is not to be expected).
